How to get bright and healthy looking eyes

Dark circles and puffy eyes are a common problem for most. Although they can be caused by hereditary-there are some simple lifestyle changes that can be adapted to help reduce their appearance.
Puffy Eyes
Eyes that look puffy or have bags underneath are often a sign of fluid retention which occurs when liquid waste accumulates in the delicate tissue around the eye area. This is usually caused by sluggish lymph circulation, and tends to happen more so overnight, because eyelids are not moving therefore natural drainage slows down.
Dark Circles
Dark circles look bluish or shadowy under the eyes-In most cases they are caused by hereditary, lack of sleep, poor circulation, too many toxins or caffeine. Sadly there are no miracle cures for getting rid of dark circles. However, healthy lifestyle such as drinking plenty of water, and taking regular exercise can help reduce the darkness.
As so many people suffer with dark circles and/or puffy eyes, I thought it would be useful to share my top tips on how to get bright and healthy looking eyes!

My top eye beauty tips:
- Reduce eye bags and puffiness- lie back and apply cool cucumbers, teabags or raw potato to your eyes. Leave on for about 10-15 minutes then remove.
- Crush some ice, wrap it inside a muslin cloth and lie with it on your eyes for as long as you can tolerate. This is effective for diminishing bags by constricting blood vessels under the eyes. This is also a great idea for brightening up tired eyes.
- Massage and tapping around the eye area is a great way to boost circulation. Massage skin around eyes twice a day when applying eye cream.
- Reduce puffy eyes by removing alcohol and salt from your diet
- Sleeping with an extra pillow can reduce puffy eyes. This prevents eye fluids from accumulating in the sockets.
- Splash face with cold water to boost circulation and brighten complexion.
- Use eye products rich in vitamin C to help free-radical damage and collagen breakdown in the skin.
- Be careful not to apply creams that are too rich in moisture around the eye area. Using heavily moisturising products around the eyes can cause puffiness.
- Make sure all make-up is removed from eyes when removing make-up. Use a gentle sweeping motion from the outside in, as this will prevent any pulling and stretching the delicate skin.
- Dark circles and puffiness can occur due to lack of vitamin K or inadequate antioxidants. Also, when deficient in vitamin B12-so be sure to eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, especially cabbage, spinach, and other leafy green vegetables.
- Apply a peachy toned concealer to hide the appearance of dark circles. Peach tones are effective in toning down darkness and blue.
- Drink plenty of water-dark circles can be a sign of poor toxin elimination.
- There are plenty of moisturising eye drop products available on the internet or in high street pharmacies. Use these to brighten tired looking eyes before applying make-up.
