Summertime beauty tips
May0220129:19 a.m.

Well I can’t believe we have entered the fifth month of the year already!! Although the weather may not be feeling too summery outside at the moment-the summer is only just around the corner now. So here I am to brighten up your day, with my hot summer beauty tips!
Use waterproof cosmetics-It is always a good idea to make sure you opt for products that are longwearing and waterproof during high humidity. Whether you are in and out of the pool or lying in the sun, it’s a great way to make sure mascara and eye liner stay in place all day.
Less is most certainly more-I recommend wearing less make-up during the warmer months. If you wear too much in the hot weather, it is guaranteed to slide away and shine after a couple of hours wear. It is much more complimentary to wear less make-up and lightweight products.
Change your beauty regime-Not only do the seasons change, but so does your skin, so it is important to change your skin care regime throughout the year. Products that may seem effective on your skin during the winter months most likely won’t agree as the weather heats up. Most people find they require richer moisturising products during the wintertime.
Update your cosmetics-We change our fashion through out the year, so why not update your make-up look too? Keep up to date with the latest make-up trends and products through fashion magazines. The latest hot summer make-up looks for 2012 are very minimalist, peaches and corals on the lips are also hot on the catwalks.
Use a gel or crème blush-Gel and crème blush stain the skin, therefore last longer than your average powder blush, because the sweat won’t break down so easily.
Fake your tan-If you want to look healthy and bronzed with out lying in the sun, then faking your tan is a great way to do it! See a reputable spray tanning professional. A tanning expert should carry a range of products to create either a very natural looking tan or something deeper it you prefer.

Don’t forget your SPF!-It is important to protect your skin from burning when out in the sunshine. Don’t forget to use an SPF and apply plenty on your nose and lips, because they burn so easily. Personally I recommend natural or organic sun protection as most SPF’s are packed with chemicals and known skin irritants. Also if you are prone to acne or skin breakouts make sure you find SPF that is oil-free and non comedogenic.
As I have mentioned above-it is important to not let your skin burn. But please do remember that the sun is very good for you. In-fact sun exposure is essential for good health, a natural immunity and mood booster!

Happy Make-uping!

bridetobe123 'Great tips! I just have a question - you advise wearing less makeup in the summer (which I would love to do!) however I generally need to wear foundation and concealer as I suffer from spots and also have marks on my skin that they have left behind. How can I 'lighten up' but still cover these up?' added 10th May 2012

Laura 'I agree that lighter makeup looks better over the summer. Sometimes I see girls caking it on and it goes all sweaty and cakey when it's particularly hot. I love BB cream - it's light, moisturising, and evens out your skin tone. Most brands have an SPF in them to protect you from the sun too :) Add a dash of mascara and lipgloss - perfect summer makeup.' added 13th May 2012

Charlene_Evason 'Thanks everyone, glad to hear you have enjoyed my summer beauty tips! @Bridetobe123, Laura Taylor has offered some great advise. BB cream's are ideal for covering blemishes, and have a light coverage. Also it may me worth having some light skin peel treatments or microdermabrasion to fade out blemishes. ' added 5th Jun 2012
