Flowers- to fake or not to fake?

Apr1020124:11 p.m.

Hi everyone my wedding is somewhat in the far off distance (over a year away) but I have naturally started planning my dream wedding.  My plan was to deal with all the sections like the dress, flowers and venues all separately but everything seems to seep out into other bits.

Recently I have been trying to temporarily arrange flowers and flower decorations.  My family have obviously given me their opinion- whether it was wanted or not haha, challenging my views about my day.  I have no friends that have been married as yet and the only other opinions in my household are women who are slightly older than me and might have a different take on 'tradition'.

I have always thought fresh flowers looked a lot better than the unrealistic fake flowers.  I visited a warehouse recently and they look really realistic!  Obviously the nice smell of flowers would not be present but I have been told you can keep the fake flowers and add them into your home- whatever your wish but that they can be certainly used again.

Real flowers are obviously less expensive than the fake ones but im so tempted to pay out more and have them forever.  I was wondering if anyone had come across this dilemma in their planning?  If so could you please help me become a bit closer to the end decision?

thank you :)

You can only use so much in your house as well so maybe you could have a bit of both? best of both worlds the scent and the post wedding flower collection! ' added 10th Apr 2012

  • Korry 'I'm going for the 'fake' option, i was buzzing around and looked at real and fake (also have hayfever). A lot of the fresh flowers now have had their 'scent 'bred out of them so they don't really smell. Also if you get fake flower table arrangements you can not only keep some for yourself, but give some away as keepsake gifts.' added 3rd Jul 2012
