I love the idea of a 50s inspired dress - with polka dot shoes.

I love the Grecian style dresses - so elegant. Cream is my colour of choice too. Gorgeous...

Hi all, I have a dilemma I am hoping youcan help me with. I have just got engaged! And the big day is planned for May 2014..but I have stumbled upon the most beautiful dress I could ever dream of (I am incredibly fussy!). Three problems: 1. It is in Australia! 2. Is it too early??? 3. This is the first dress I have seen and will not be able to try it on. I am tempted to go for it because it takes six months to create and I am literally so fussy. I am a petite female so wedding dress shopping puts fear into me anyway! Advice? Shoudl I go for it or wait?!

weddingtastic 'I think you should try on anything similar in terms of shape just to see. If you're happy with the way it sits on you then go for it. Your wedding dress is important and if you've found the one then grab hold of it with both hands' 6 months, 2 weeks ago

hi i'm unsure if i should wear a veil, the dress i want has a trian at the back which is a bit long and i don't know if having a veil will be too much what do you think?

cfaria 'hi new too group ... mmm backless dresses are nice but i think look better on taller girls i'm quite short so i didn't think it looked right when i tried one on oh and the front shouldn't be too low cut either if it is covering it with a layer of lace is nice too' 11 months, 4 weeks ago

What are people's thoughts on short wedding dresses? I really want a shorter one (just above the knee) but everyone keeps telling me they think wedding dresses should be long!

cfaria 'short wedding dresses are ok i personally am more traditional so i'm opting for the long dress but if you like it and feel good in it go for it its more mordern and can dance better in it too i'm thinking on long wedding dress for ceremony and dinner then change into my going away dress which is just above the knee before the dances since if i wait till the end no one will really see me in it lol' 11 months, 4 weeks ago

I’ve seen some amazing pictures of women in their wedding dresses underwater recently – would anyone consider doing this after the Big day?

Jess 'Maybe - its not like you're going to wear it again. You'd have to make sure they were a great photographer though - imagine if the photos turned out rubbish!' 11 months, 3 weeks ago

I don't think I would ever wear my dress again, or look at it that much. So I was thinking, do you think people make things out of the dress? Like cushion covers or christening gowns for their children?

What kind of dress are you looking for - have you got certain criteria?

I spoke to a friend on Thursday who has just rented a dress for her wedding. Not sure I could do that, although it is a lot cheaper!
